The first video incorrectly used the Sun-Earth L2 Point in the diagram, not the Earth-Moon L2 Point. This video corrects that mistake.

On January 3rd 2019 a spacecraft launched by the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program or CLEP, touched down on the far side of the Moon. This event marks the first time humans have softly landed in this lunar realm.

Consisting of a lander and a rover, they are carrying instruments to analyze the geology and attempt to determine the age and composition of a region on the Moon that has never before been explored.
