This week, we re-visit processing data from NASA missions yourself. Our guest this week is Kevin M. Gill, a very talented image processor who's work has included images from most major NASA space telescopes and other missions. We live in a time when people who are interested in learning how to work with astronomical dataset and images do not need to spend a fortune on their own equipment. Instead, they can leverage the freely available data from NASA's many mission datasets, including the Hubble Space Telescope, Spitzer Space telescope, Mar Curiosity, the Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter and many others. Learning how to download, process and display images from these datasets can also help you build a valuable skillset that could be used for potential jobs in astronomy as well. All this and more is discussed in today's Telescope Talk Hangout,. You can see some of Kevin's work here: https://www.instagram.com/apoapsys/?hl=en https://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinmgill/ If you've ever wanted to learn tips and techniques about processing space images yourself, then this is the hangout for you!
